WELCOME TO THE DISCOVERY PRODUCTION GUIDE

 

Please note that the information contained in this Guide is proprietary and only available to Discovery contracted producers and distributors.

 

This website is designed to provide producers with convenient access to Discovery’s standard guidelines, program forms and templates, discounted deals and other relevant information needed to successfully and efficiently complete your projects. It is also intended to explain the procedures used at Discovery and how they affect your production.

 

You are responsible for the completion of your contractual agreement with Discovery. you should contact your appropriate Discovery Project Team (listed below).

 

As a corporate service, Production Management’s support stretches across all platforms to ensure basic program elements are available to all Discovery business units. New technology allows us to serve you more efficiently by providing updated information while eliminating redundancy in the workflow. It is our sincere intention to provide easy on-line access to materials you will need to create and submit as part of your deliverable requirements.

DISCOVERY PROJECT TEAM

Many people at Discovery will be involved in the completion, publicity and presentation of your production. Your Discovery Project Team will be your primary points of contact.

 

Here are the main contacts that comprise team: 

 

Network Executive Producer (EP) or Production Executive (PE): Your primary contact for all editorial and creative decisions. They will review your programs(s) and program milestones for content, appropriateness and approvals. The EP or PE also works with an Associate Producer or Coordinating Producer.

 

Business & Legal Affairs (BLA): Responsible for the negotiation and execution of your Production Agreement and any legal issues involved with the production.

Production Manager (PMD): Your primary contact for all production and financial issues, clearances, delivery of the program materials, and technical issues
