SUBMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in TLC.

TLC DOES NOT ACCEPT UNSOLICITED SUBMISSIONS. TLC only accepts submissions/pitches from established agencies, production companies, and producers.

We DO NOT accept unsolicited show ideas, concepts, suggestions, etc.

Comments or questions left here will NOT be answered. If you have questions or comments relating to TLC or any of our programming, please contact Fan Relations directly at: https://corporatediscovery.custhelp.com/

We look forward to the opportunity to review your proposal. Please note all proposals must be submitted via eSubmissions, even if you have previously discussed your project with a network representative.

Proposals will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. If you’ve spoken to a network representative, please include their name in the COMMENTS section. That will ensure your submission is routed to the appropriate person. If we have initial interest in your project, we will contact you for more information. Please note: Do not mail any materials to our offices. All materials, including tapes, will be discarded – do NOT send originals.

GUIDELINES

TLC accepts nonfiction programming proposals for one-hour programs, limited series, and full prime-time series.

Required Materials

  • One- to two-page treatment that describes the proposed program, story line, visual approach, acts, and production team
  • Sizzle and/or skype on talent
  • Accurate research of topic, if applicable
  • Production timeline
  • Budget summary, as well as the level of funding sought from TLC
  • Type of deal sought, whether commission or co-production (please include Co-Production partners, if applicable)

Submission Procedures

Development Proposals: Proposals must be submitted through the Producer’s Portal for consideration. Proposals are accepted only from producers who agree to the guidelines set forth in Discovery’s Release Form. Proposals will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. If TLC has initial interest in your project, we will contact you for additional information.

Please note that submission materials mailed to our offices will not be considered or returned, and materials will be recycled. Do NOT send originals.

Completed Programs If you would like us to review a completed film, you may submit the film electronically to the acquisition review process. Should TLC express initial interest in your project, you will be contacted for additional information.
